Spoilers ahead pi, understandably, replaces traumatizing details from the story of his survival to construct an alternate story which is full.
Though it raises complex philosophical and religious questions, life of pi's plot is almost ridiculously easy to summarize: dude gets stuck on a lifeboat in the middle of the pacific ocean with a tiger, thinks about god done okay, maybe that's a little too simplistic so we'll take you through the main events in a tad more. The island is green, color recommended by the survival manual as a color to watch for, but it is the color of islam the qur'an says that the inhabitants of paradise will wear fine green silk garments also, muhammad, the prophet and founder of islam, is said to have worn green or carried a green banner.
Thanks for sending your questions to life of pi author yann martel life of pi is the latest selection in good morning america's read this book club series check out his answers to several readers' questions q our book club read the book last month, and wondered if there were more mystic puns such. I felt the same about slumdog millionaire i think it won all those oscars just because it was indian not that i'm disrespecting indians or their movies, but i think both slumdog millionaire and life of pi had an obvious ending, and just lingered on the story in a really boring sort of way what i mean is, you just.
The wonderful thing about life of pi is that it can be interpreted to mean many things, depending on the viewer my personal interpretation is that the main purpose of the story is to confront the question of whether or not there is a god in a unique way at the end of the story, we are presented with two. At the start of the movie, the main character (as a boy) is intrigued by ideas from multiple religions, but his father says everyone must choose just one religion so from the beginning, the core dilemma facing the main character involves his personal understanding of god this dilemma is resolved by the end. I think that the first story is true too iunno im doing an essay on it right now trying to prove the first story, and i only have two arguments right now, and looking for a third, but the first one is that pi is greatly experienced with zoo animals so therefore it makes the first story more plausible secondly there is.
The choice you make however can mean a few things, it represents which one sounds better obviously, or it represents how to make choices in life throughout the entire book it was all about the tiger and pi, this is what we were thought to believe for 98% of the book then all of a sudden a story that only lasts for a few.
